 Single Transferrable Vote is a method of Proportional Representation (PR) used in Northern Ireland for Assembly Elections. It was chosen as a voting system in the Good Friday Agreement to prevent majority rule and to increase representation in Northern Ireland. As a result this is supposed to reduce the Democratic deficit.
HOW IT WORKS:
 The “Irish Sea border” is a shorthand term for a set of post-Brexit trading arrangements that have become one of the most contentious issues in Northern Ireland politics. The core of the dispute is about where the UK–EU economic border should sit and what that means for identity, sovereignty, and stability in Northern Ireland.
1. What the “Irish Sea border” actually isAfter Brexit, the UK left the EU’s Single Market and Customs Union. This created a problem unique to Northern Ireland:
Legally and technically, it’s not a full border—but politically, many treat it as one. This is excellent material for any analysis of the effectiveness or in this case ineffectiveness of the NI Executive
 The new Troubles Legacy bill is currently going through the House of Commons. It is going through Second reading and about to move on to Committee stage. It is expected to be heavily amended by British MPs. Many are worried about the effects on veterans who have served in Northern Ireland. Nationalist MPs and the Irish government worry it will be watered down so much as to be ineffective.
